Our fixer-upper home is over 100 years old so it is tempting to feel the need to replace EVERYTHING in sight. Unfortunately, our budget reminds us we cannot afford that! 😉 Instead of replacing, we are repairing- which means we have to find cheap options to make big changes.
Here’s what our air conditioner return vent looked like before:
Rusted, dirty and very old looking.
My son washed it and my husband spray-painted it with two coats of black metal-looking spray paint, and here’s the after:
For less than $10 it looks like we got new metal vent covers! It was a small win and I’m so happy with it! If you’re on a budget, spray paint may be just the hack you need in your life!
